Logistics – Pipes, Routing & Automation

A modern, BuildCraft-inspired logistics system for Fabric Minecraft.

Logistics brings classic item transportation back to Minecraft — with visible in-pipe movement, tiered progression, and deep network automation. Inspired by BuildCraft and Logistics Pipes, the mod focuses on clear, physical systems that are easy to understand, fun to design, and powerful to scale.

🚚 Tier 1: Mechanical Pipes

Simple, dumb pipes that just move items. No item awareness — they do their job every time regardless of what's flowing through them.

  • Stone Transport Pipe – very slow backbone connectivity
  • Copper Transport Pipe – standard backbone with random routing
  • Item Extractor Pipe – pull items from adjacent inventories (wrench-configurable, requires power)
  • Item Merger Pipe – converge multiple inputs to a single output
  • Golden Transport Pipe – accelerate item transit when powered by redstone
  • Item Passthrough Pipe – connects only to pipes; bypasses inventories
  • Item Void Pipe – delete unwanted items

🧠 Tier 2: Smart Pipes

Item-aware pipes that inspect contents and make routing decisions.

  • Item Filter Pipe – route specific items to specific destinations
  • Item Insertion Pipe – prefer inventories with available space

🌐 Tier 3: Network Logistics

Your inventories become abstract resources. Pipes advertise contents, fulfill requests, and automate crafting across your entire network.

  • Basic Logistics Pipe – network backbone; accepts and deposits addressed items, with optional filtering and default route fallback
  • Provider Logistics Pipe – connects to adjacent inventories and advertises their contents to the network
  • Supplier Logistics Pipe – monitors stock levels and automatically requests restocking from the network
  • Requester Logistics Pipe – browse everything available across your network and pull exactly what you need
  • Crafting Logistics Pipe – connect to an auto-crafter and enable on-demand crafting within your network
  • Process Logistics Pipe – automate processing machines (furnaces, etc.) as part of your network
  • Satellite Logistics Pipe – named remote destinations for precise routing

🔩 Tier 4: Modular Logistics

The deepest layer. Chassis pipes accept swappable modules, letting you compose fully custom logistics nodes instead of using dedicated pipes for every role.

  • Chassis Logistics Pipe (MK1–MK5) – the pipe itself; higher marks hold more modules
  • Extractor / Advanced Extractor Module – pull items from inventories
  • Provider Module – advertise inventory contents to the network
  • Supplier Module – maintain stock levels (passive or active)
  • Crafter Module – craft items on demand
  • Quicksort Module – sort items into designated storage
  • Sink Modules – accept items by type, NBT, enchantment, or mod namespace
  • Terminus Module – mark network dead-ends

🔋 Power

RF energy generation with escalating heat management:

  • Redstone Engine – simple, safe, steady power from a redstone signal
  • Stirling Engine – fuel-powered with heat stages; produces more power but can overheat

🤖 Automation

  • Laser Quarry – automated 16×16 mining; energy-scaled speed, constructs its own frame
  • Kiln – temperature-controlled crafting for valves and advanced materials

🔧 Tools

  • Wrench – configure pipes, rotate engines, reset overheated machines
  • Marking Fluid – color-code copper pipes to segment and isolate networks

Items visibly travel through pipes — no teleporting, no black boxes. What you build is what you get.

⛏ Automated Quarries

Logistics includes quarries that physically mine the world using real tools.

  • Accepts any valid tool placed into the quarry
  • Fully supports enchantments (Fortune, Silk Touch, Unbreaking, etc.)
  • Mines actual world blocks (not simulated drops)
  • Designed for large-area excavation and deep automation builds
  • Integrates directly into pipe networks for true end-to-end automation

🌿 Copper Weathering & Network Marking

Copper pipes naturally oxidize over time, can be waxed, and can be dyed with marking fluid to visually segment and organize large networks.

  • Vanilla-style oxidation stages
  • Waxing to preserve appearance
  • Marking fluid to color and identify pipe networks

🧩 Mod-Friendly by Design

  • Built on the Fabric Transfer API
  • Designed to maximize compatibility with other mods
  • No required dependencies beyond Fabric & Fabric API
  • Performance-conscious implementation

📦 Installation

  1. Install Fabric Loader (Minecraft 1.21+)
